On my first day of first grade, another kid threatened to whip me with his belt because I stepped on his foot.

He went on to a career as a major league infielder, making $3m per year, while I am stuck practicing law.

If I had only known that's how it worked, I would have threatened to whip someone with my belt.*

Not meant as whining, we are still friends and I am still awed at his athletic prowess, plus he is probably smarter than me, LOL.
