Don't know, she mentioned she would only have to go over for two weeks at a time but that sounds like a pipe dream. My son mentioned the external degree.

Lot of work; plus she is busy already. I think she just likes London and the theatre. I worked on a Ph.D for awhile, too many years have to be invested. Also I was in my late thirties and had more experience than many of the professors.

Whatever; personally I think she takes on too much work.
