(interestingly massive losses in the stock market have actually ended up making me a much happier person, but that's for another day).

Are you kidding? It's the most important truth available in this biz. You're feeling the relief from the stress of playing a game that you know can't be won.

Still, I have a position in this wonderful company and try to keep up with the daily sorrows of the ATHM investors. Considering your continuing interest,if I may ask, what is your stake in ATHM? Do you own any stock at this point ( I suspect not)?

I don't divulge what I do in the stock market.

And finally, what is it about ATHM that makes you as interested as you seem to be?

I authored something on the order of 25% of the posts on the ATHM thread since the stock IPOed. I know the company better than anyone. Insiders know that and some outsiders do too. I know what to do to turn the company around,or I should say, I did know. What's happening at Att is changing everything and I'm losing interest in the company because of that and because the powers in control won't allow the company, whatever it is, to succeed.

To me the managers look like little kiddies. They don't give me any sense of competent authority. I can say with all candor that Armstrong didn't either, and when I saw Jack Welch today, I thought the guy was a bum. He's had it. GE has had it. Welch and the other drunk from HON sound like they're inappropriate, but that's the sound that ATHM's CEO should have.

Despite all I have gleaned from your posts in the last year or so, I can't figure out exactly where you stand in this quagmire. Don't mean to impose, just wondering.

I stand away, aloof. The company didn't do anything I wanted or anything that is constructive. That continues today. There is a growing argument that they'll go bust. The reason is that they can't see what's killing them.

Further, right now they have a search team looking for someone appropriately qualified to be CEO. That tells you all you need to know. That is precisely what they don't need. Appropriate will kill them.
