I don't know whether a 1997 repeat is more likely than following the trend of the other four years. I do know (or think I remember) that the last time the thread had this discussion it was wishful thinking, and the rest of the market was right. I think the stocks will be trashed tomorrow while the market waits to see if this is a seasonal slowdown (or a temporary halt to assimilate equipment while simultaneously looking to see whether the semiconductor product slowdown is temporary) or the lead in to something really bad.
