WASHINGTON, Oct. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Broadcom Corporation (Nasdaq: BRCM - news), of Irvine, California, will become a component of the Nasdaq-100 Index®, effective at the beginning of trading Monday, October 30, 2000. Class A Shares of Broadcom will also be included in the Nasdaq-100 Index Tracking Stock(SM) (Amex: QQQ - news). Broadcom will replace Lycos, Inc. (LCOS), which is being acquired by Terra Networks, S.A.
