Eicon Technology is the First Hardware Vendor to Provide ISDN Support on Windows Millennium Edition CD
MONTREAL, QUEBEC--OCTOBER 24, 2000 - 09:01 EDT Continuing its close relationship with Microsoft(R) Corporation (Nasdaq: MSFT), Eicon Technology Corporation, a worldwide provider of Internet access products, today announced that it is providing the first ISDN drivers to be included on the Windows(R) Millennium Edition (ME) operating system CD. These drivers enable ISDN users to quickly and simply get their Internet access connection up and running and connected when they install Windows ME or upgrade their existing operating system. When upgrading from Windows 98 to Windows ME, the system automatically adopts the existing ISDN configuration, which means that the user does not have to make any adjustments.
By including the Eicon drivers in a special directory on the Windows ME installation disk, all communications and remote-access features can be made available for immediate access. In addition, it ensures the optimal system configuration, without needing to go through any additional complicated installation procedures. Hardware components are recognized automatically and configured quickly. Also included are the corresponding drivers for standard interfaces such as the WAN miniport and CAPI 2.0.
Eicon offers support for Windows ME in its entire DIVA ISDN client family, such as the DIVA, DIVA Pro, DIVA Pro PC Card and the DIVA ISDN USB. For additional information about the full range of Eicon's products, please see eicon.com.
