Re: AMD is in a much better position now in many ways, but they were also in a solid position with the k6-2 right before they got smeared because the k6-2 couldn't ramp up in clock speed.

Overclockers couldn't get the K-6 much higher than rated speed, even with extreme cooling.

Bunny has already run his 950MHZ chip to almost 1.6GHZ with extreme cooling - using only front side bus overclocking. Whatever else may happen, the Athlon core isn't hitting the speed limits that plagued the K-6. We've already seen that demonstrated.
