Historically, it's been a hassle. Many states have made progressive changes to the system for registering. And I dare say the GOPwinger record on such reforms is dismal.

How much did Bush outspend McCain in the primaries? What Bush do, spend most of his 100 million to beat back the war hero? This fact alone should demonstrate how powerful the money is. Fact is, McCain was correct on campaign finance reform. Bush is a no-show on the issue.
