That's the daunting part about LEAPS. It take a while to get comfortable with the huge time premium a volatile stock like ntap commands. But despite that, the LEAPS offer quite a bit of leverage over the common. I sold some ntap common on July 24 and replaced it with LEAPS. Here's a comparison of returns based on the price of the underlying at the time I bought the LEAPS:


7/24 RTQ RETURN
NTAP 110 141 1/4 28.2%
YHFAF (1/02 130 strike) 33 1/4 55 (bid) 65.4%


Actually, LEAPS make for extremely good trading vehicles.
