Joe You don't think having guns gives people greater confidence and a sense of power which makes pulling off a crime seem much more possible? The crime rate in the US spans gun related and non-gun-related crimes. It would be interesting to compare the statistics between the US and other less violent contracts to see if the difference in the rates of crime can be attributed solely to the higher incidence of crimes committed with guns in this country. Why do you think putting known criminals in jail would solve the problem? I bet there would be others very ready to take their place. I don't understand your reasoning here. Do you think that we have even more criminals, and they just can't make it because of competition from other criminals? Actually, I do. There have been instances where police have arrested an entire crime syndicate only to have a new group move in and take up the territory. It goes on in LA all the time. ted But than how do you explain the dramatic drop in crime
