For me, part of the beauty and simplicity of this product is it can be run out in the open on the shooting gallery without a firewall. If it's running separate and on top of the web server. And you're refreshing the database on an hourly or daily basis, or whatever. That's part of the advantage of this type of setup. Or if you're database is remote that's even better if you're just calling it up. I don't know. I may be missing something here. The platform is right where it needs to be. it's IP based. It's not like you can take this software and put it external to your computer out on a router or something. It's not like you can run this stuff out on the web and bypass any type of local computer or LAT. It's not like it's hard to refresh a database that is kept on another computer. It's not like you even have to mess with a big hairy Proxy server. (with Linux you can even partition a hardrive to allow security to the database and have the application running on another partition [very stable]) (If it's on a hidden 10.0.0.X address that's good too) Of course some evil people could probably shoot you temporarily until you refreshed your database but it's not like that doesn't happen every hour out on the shooting gallery. Sure you have to be careful where you put your files and if you put it under cf_application stuff. I don't know. Is there something going on here. other than the brokers trying to teach these young hotshots a lesson.
