About two years of research (on trading strategies). I have also trading for a similar period of time. I went as far as to rediscover and prove myself a few theorems (Wald's identity). However, as a statistician, I have more than 10 years of experience in processing time series. I'm out of the market presently because I'm buying a house in Pittsburg, CA (bay area) - an investment possibly as good as some really good stocks since Pittsburg is about the only place left in the Bay area with beautiful houses that cost 4 times less than in San Francisco.
