13:28 ET Optical Sector : Opticals soft due to two factors: Lehman says that it would not buy JDS Uniphase (JDSU -5 7/16) ahead of earnings as the stock is "priced to perfection". Also, Nortel (NT -3 3/16) trading down on rumors that it might miss quarter or guide down future numbers, though this sounds like an unwarranted reaction to the recent bad news from Lucent (LU) and LU's restraining impact on Corning's (GLW) top-line. But NT is not an LU customer, and is gaining share at LU's expense.
