i'm not saying it's easy...in fact i expect it may well take another decade before the decks are finally cleared. but it's a necessary process, and the quicker it's done the better.

it does however conjure up images of a similarly protracted unwinding of the US/global bubble...

the laid off salarymen falling on their swords inhabit a totally different, more personal perspective. they are the final victims of the bubble.

my criticism of the bubble friendly monetary policies of the Fed isn't just idle chatter...i know full well what monstrous economic distortions they have created, and Japan illustrates quite nicely what that ultimately leads to...for the life of me i won't ever understand why this example is being stubbornly ignored by policy makers everywhere.
