NY is the center of 'ClownBuxdom', and the NY Art Mkt is the pinnacle of that, so that is a meaningful anecdote IMO. That jibs with what I see here.... where the most speculative fringe stuff is being cut... Talk to people that are living off of retirement that is overweighted in tech. I just caught up with a family friend that was out of the country for a month and got back to see 25% of his net worth wiped out (some has come back in the last week of course). Now that will change some spending habits. His dilema, get out of CSCO, INTC, and MSFT with under $5 cost per share and give up much of the gains to the government, or ride this out.
