Fri 23 May 97 News Release

Mr Randy Turner reports
The company has provided an update on progress in its exploration program
in the Snap Lake area of the Camsell Lake project, NWT. The project area is
140 miles northeast of Yellowknife and is a joint venture between Winspear
Resources (57.3%), the operator, and Aber Resources Ltd (42.7%).
A second vertical drill hole was collared at anomaly 186, 55 metres west of
the discovery hole in which 107 metres of complex kimberlite breccia was
previously reported. This second hole encountered similar complex
kimberlite breccia over 98.5 metres beginning at a depth of 119.3 metres.
Several pyrope garnets together with a 0.9mm diamond have been recovered
while examining this core in the field. This core has been shipped to
Vancouver for detailed examination and sampling.
The discovery hole at anomaly 186 has now been logged. Samples from this
hole together with previously reported kiinberlite dyke intersections have
been submitted to Lakefield Research for recovery of indicator minerals and
for diamond analyses. Results will be announced when they are received from
the laboratory.
During the spring drill program, 37 drill holes were completed for a total
of 6,192 metres. A total of 13 kimberlite dyke intersections has previously
been reported from the peninsula area on the west side of Snap Lake. Three
diamonds, previously reported, were recovered from these intersections
while examining the core in the field. In addition, two holes have now been
completed in kimberlite breccia material at anomaly 186 on the east side of
Snap Lake. As reported above, this material is also diamond bearing. At
this time, a geophysical crew is undertaking a test survey using deep
penetrating EM techniques over the kimberlite intersections obtained at
anomaly 186 with the objective of determining the size of the kimberlite
body at this site. Although the spring drill program has been completed,
the drill remains on the property in anticipation of an additional program.
Planning is under way for the summer program on the property which is
expected to comprise additional till sampling and possibly drilling.
The numerous and varied kimberlite intersections obtained during the spring
drilling program together with diamond bearing kimberlite dyke
intersections encountered in the 1996 drill program in the south part of
Snap Lake, confirms that this area is one of significant diamond bearing
kimberlite activity. The joint venture partners anticipate an active summer
program on the property to follow up the encouraging results obtained to
date.
