OK Clappy, here's one for you.
Three traveling salesmen (OK, women, satisfied?), exhausted after a long day of soujourning (good word, probably misspelled) go to a hotel to rest for the night. The hotel clerk indicates that there is only one room left in the hotel. The three wo/men decide to share the room. The clerk indicates that the room goes for $30.00 per night. The three agree and split the cost three ways, resulting in a net cost per person of $10.00.
Later that evening, the hotel manager reviews the daily entry and reaalizes that there was a mistake. The room that was rented for $30.00 a night really goes for $25.00 a night. The manager instructs the bellhop to return the $5.00 to the three occupants.
The bellhop, pissed off that he has to hand deliver the $5.00, and interrups his watching of the World Series, decides to "tip" /pocket for himself $2.00, and refunds only $3.00 to the unsuspecting occupants.
So now, how much did each person spend for the night? Well they each chipped in $10.00 per person for the room and was now refunded a dollar each, resulting in a net cost of $9.00 per person.
$9.00 x 3 = $27.00.
Add the $2.00 that the bellhop pocketed for himself.
That results in a total of $29.00.
WHAT HAPPENED TO THE OTHER DOLLAR???????
