Agency to Develop New Ad Campaign for Leading Broadband Semiconductor Company
Grey Worldwide/San Francisco (GREY) today announced it has secured the PMC-Sierra, (PMCS) advertising account. Various agencies competed for the account which is expected to generate initial billings in the millions.
Comprised of multi-media advertising, the campaign will seek to make PMC-Sierra the preferred brand of high-speed, broadband solutions among target decision-makers at OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturers) and Telecom/Internet providers. The campaign, scheduled to launch early next year, will also help to expand awareness of the breadth of the company's broadband semiconductor solutions which focus on accelerating the capacity and speed of the Internet.
"Grey has a solid track record of producing campaigns that position their clients for future prosperity," said Doug Brownridge, PMC-Sierra's vice president of corporate marketing. "We compete in the core of the global Internet, designing faster, more powerful solutions. We need an agency partner who has the ability to de-mystify the technology and create a compelling conceptual space for our company. While our selection process included several other excellent agencies, we felt that Grey Worldwide/San Francisco was an ideal match for the energy and vision of PMC-Sierra."
Grey will execute an advertising campaign that will leverage PMC-Sierra's position as a leading company that provides high-speed, high-density semiconductors and networking processors that power the broadband communications equipment making up the Internet infrastructure. Boasting an extensive and diverse customer base -- from communications equipment giants such as Cisco Systems, Lucent Technologies, Nortel, Alcatel, Ericsson and NEC, to dozens of leading-edge start-ups -- PMC-Sierra offers the broadest and most highly-regarded product line of off-the-shelf broadband components in the market today.
Grey Worldwide/San Francisco will manage all strategic and creative elements of the campaign, while its partner company, MediaCom, will handle all media services.
"Grey's history of accomplishment has helped us land another top-flight account," said Kieran Hannon, President & COO, of Grey Worldwide/SF. "E-commerce, e-trading, instant messaging and streaming video have evolved broadband from a luxury to a necessity. Service Providers are responding by adding more and more broadband equipment to their backbones, and PMC-Sierra is a prime supplier of the engines that power that equipment. Grey is looking forward to developing the PMC-Sierra brand and helping the company reach new levels of success."
