Bush increased his lead over Vice President Al Gore to nine points in Ohio according to the most recent Portrait of America (POA) telephone survey of likely voters. Bush has 48%, Gore 39%. In the race for the United States Senate, incumbent Republican Mike DeWine leads Democratic challenger Ted Celeste 56% to 30%.
