AMD updated the technical data to include 1.2 GHz: amd.com

Few things I noticed:
- The voltage remains 1.75 V
- maximum die temperature of 1.1 and above is 95C
- maximum power consumption of 1.1 GHz went from around 55W to 60W, 1.2 GHz is 66W

I think the increase means a change in plans of AMD. Originally, AMD probably planned on all the Tbird production to come from Dresden. The new plan is to process more Tbird wafers in Austin. It means there will be 1.1 and 1.2 GHz chips from Austin as well.

I think AMD recognized during the last quarter that the positioning of Duron is problematic, the demand was low, while the demand for Athlon exceeded supply from Dresden. So I think we will have more Athlons to look forward to. It would be nice to know when AMD made this decision, to know how this quarter will be impacted. The impact should be positive.

With it's higher ASP (and essentially the same cost), AMD should get extra $100 revenue per chip, of extra $100M if Austin makes 1 million Athlons instead of Durons.
