You aren't keeping up. The German government does collect taxes, from people who check off that they Protestants, Catholics, Scientologists, and any other religion. They can always not check the box. They can un-check the box. Apparently this is the oldest tax in Germany. So how is it a quid pro quo for the Holocaust, especially since it antedates the Holocaust?
