TWEST,
I am just learning this game but a couple of things I thought about when reading the last few posts. Market Makers have to register when they intend to make a market in a stock. It's a commitment. Often if not always the company silicits them with incentives (shares) from the company to make a market for their stock. The company would give them room to do what they want and keep them more up to date than investor's will ever be (or the MM will walk away from the stock). It is very unlikely (IMO) that the MM's don't know the results of the first hole. If it's good then the MM's would accumulate cheap in preparation for the news and run-up when they will sell their 12 cent shares for 1.00 to who knows how much! MM's make their money off the churn but they also accumulate, hype, and distribute. This is what I think I have learned about it but I am still a novice. I did not work for many years on an exchange like Mad Monk who I'm sure could write a book. Bob : - )
