CAPTECH - An Important Breakthrough
MONTREAL, QUEBEC--After two years of Research and Development and laboratory testing followed by more than two months of conclusive on site testing at the Fundy Cable (New-Brunswick) distribution networks site, CAPTECH is proud to announce its first firm contracts.
On the national market Gaspe
Cablo G. Inc., and important regional Cable distributor located in Gaspe placed a first order for a complete real time headline status monitoring system for the amount of $30,000 and the possibility of total sales of $250,000 as the network will grow.
On the International market Korea
The Consortium including CAPTECH and the Toronto based company TRIPLE CROWN ELECTRONICS just received two crucial orders for this market:
SUNGMI, an Important Korean telecommunication equipment supplier with a turnover of more than 175 Million dollars and DAE SUNG, a Korean cable distributor, ordered two prototype real time monitoring system units from CAPTECH.
There high-tech CAPTECH systems have been chosen to be submitted to KOREAN TELECOM and KEPCO (Korean Electrical and Power Company), companies that are mandated by the Korean government to Implement the electronic highway of the year 2000.
These pilot projects of $60,000 may generate sales of 7 to 10 Million dollars for the next three years if the CAPTECH's system will be selected for 4 or 5 sectors out of the 25 that are needed for the info highway network.
Furthermore, CAPTECH is negotiating with Videotron for the possible use of bi-directional communication systems on coaxlal cables for large scale applications such as:
- A project of remote monitoring of electricity, gas and water meters especially with Hydro-Quebec and its C.M.F. project
- A unique, highly reliable monitoring alarm system for its Protectron subsidiary
- An upgrading of technology of the newly acquired CF Cable Company which uses Triple Crown amplifiers.
Potential sales are more than 22 Million dollars for CAPTECH over the next three years if they are chosen for these projects.
CAPTECH Inc. also competes to obtain and order from Hydro-Quebec who is to modernize its network, known as the ORIEL project, together with the consortium GERPO including S.M. Consultants, Alcatel Cables, and GEC Alsthom.
It is also worth mentioning that Hydro-Ontario is showing the same interest in the remote energy monitoring system.
CAPTECH is also part of a Consortium including Credotech, Gad Line of Israel and Cablo G that offer projects in partnership with Hydro-Quebec in order to answer Hydro-Quebec's requirements and particularly its new CEO who favours linkage and commercialization of new technologies with private companies.
Another company in Toronto, Rogers, approached CAPTECH for the development of an endline unit that evaluates the quality of the signal on the co-axial and fibre optic network. This interesting project is yet at an early stage but could eventually include 100 000 units worth more than 15 million dollars over 3 or 4 years.
All these accomplishments give a clear indication of the company's vitality and the dynamism and creativity of its employees as well as the accuracy of the chosen technologies supplied by CAPTECH to its large customers.
THE FUTURE
Software developed by CAPTECH is extremely flexible, advanced and user friendly (Windows) and by investing large amounts into Research and Development CAPTECH prepares the future to be able to offer even more universally compatible programs with the Internet, Ethernet and Cellular technologies etc. This is due to upgrades and to S.N.M.P. communication protocols.
CAPTECH's ambition, based on large investments, is to offer to small cable distributors the possibility obtaining remote support and to benefit from a diagnosis and maintenance centre located in its laboratories at a reasonable price.
Together with an operator, the diagnosis and maintenance centre could also offer logistic support for operational management, enabling small cable distributors to become more competitive and profitable.
CAPTECH also created an original concept and intends, after having obtained all the necessary patents, intellectual property rights etc, to offer a unique anti-piracy and tariff a la carte control system for the regular multi TV programming for cable distributors.
This system will meet the cable distributors requirements to compete with the telephone companies and teledistribution via satellite.
Once more, CAPTECH represents the best Canadian alternative for high-tech equipment suppliers for cable distributors in Canada and the rest of the world.
