Bush's a softie.......sort of puts tears in your eyes..........."During a campaign appearance in Arlington Heights on Tuesday, an eighth-grader at Thomas Middle School told Bush, "We understand your father was a previous president ...before Clinton." Did that influence the younger Bush's decision to get into politics? the boy asked. "There's no question he was an influence," Bush responded. "I'll tell you, it was really hard to be the son of the president for this reason: I took every slight, every ugly editorial, every cartoon to heart. "I didn't like it when people criticized my dad. It's because I love him, I love him more than anything. He gave me a phenomenal gift, called unconditional love. It helps explain who I am." Later, Bush dispensed advice to students in the school cafeteria. "First, listen to your mother. I'm 54 and I still listen to mine."
