Both you and Brian are probably too young to remember the civil rights movement, the Vietnam war opposition among other events that shaped my views. Actually I am quite liberal but learned from the activist left how not to approach a problem. As I get older I look for results, i look for progressive policies that work. Old style socialism doesnt work in the real world so I look to harness "greed" for the common good. So I am pro-business, but know deep-down that all businessmen as Joe Kennedy Sr. once said, are bastards. To compare George Wallace to George Pataki, Ross Barnett to George Bush, the Nazis to Republicans is demogoguery of the worst kind. You should be ashamed of yourself. Most Republicans are decent folks just like most democrats. The extremes on each side may resemble the Fascist and communist movements but to lump conservatives together as nazis as you seemed to do in an earlier post is wrong.
