Jeremy,and they will have awsome sales by Venture capitlaists over this summer,they are coming out with approx 90 million shares,where will be their earnings then? Cien is in the WDM market,which is mianly for fiber optic backbones,like GTE's. I am not that familiar,but probably will see a lot of news this weekend about them. THey do not compete,and the only relationship is that they are both in fiber optics. I had a great article I posted about WDM from Lighwave magazine,I can probably find it if you want. WDM was also posted here from a Gilder article about boosting the babkbone so as to not lose transmission power. WDM incoprorates more than one wavelength into the backbone,HLIT is a HFC company. HFC systems are totally different but it bodes well for all of fiber optics,speed is the key,and nothing travels faster than light,bandwidth of ADSL is equal to 1 channel of maybe 200 over fiber.
