Its not an issue of competition...so they should be treated as a one of a kind. Yet, they are being discounted. Why do you say it is not an issue of competition? We have seen the P4 benchmarks. There is a low-risk high-performing alternative from a company that has not screwed the OEMs in the recent past by supplying them with bad chipsets and processors. It is not surprising to me that the OEMs with the strongest quarter (CPQ, GTW) have a high mix of AMD processors to get a bigger profit margin. So why should they stick their neck out adopting what they see as a "niche product".
