Jas, you and Ted seem to best mirror my concerns re FORE, yet here's what really scares me: as noted in the post 3280 reference, the three real players in this market segment are FORE, NN, and CSCO. As noted in the infamous Fortune article, CSCO is scooping up share from FORE and NN as effortlessly as Microsoft once took share from Borland, or maybe more to the point as CSCO took share from BAY in the router market. It is a fact that this is occurring despite the nice awards FORE has won, and its winning techweb's theoretical RFQ. It seems to me the only hope for FORE is to take whatever scraps CSCO decides to throw its way, unless and until FORE institutes a step change in its marketing approach. Its core markets are being pillaged by the juggernaut. Radical change is required to combat the behemoth. Chuck Agger PS I'm long average $30, and as Ted says "I dont like it". |
