i don't subscribe to the "house" theory....jdsu traded an indicated 129mil shares, not reflecting any large block transactions that don't hit the ticker....if you look at the float, back out institutional holdings, it makes up about one third of the available jdsu stock owned by little guys....today's action in jdsu was unjustified, but it was more then the little guys bailing....

"houses" have no ability to engineer anything...can't force any "little guy to sell", unless of course he is on margin, or doesn't understand his own risk tolerance and aversion.
"houses" performance, especially fund managers are not exemplary...just look at the tor's of most funds....the "houses" run as fast to the exit, as does the little guy when someone yells fire....best to sit near the door, get out first, or wait until the stampede is over...providing you smell no smoke or see no flames!

caveat emptor....always has been this way....
