dale, why expect Mustang to have a lower IPC than Tbird?

Same pipeline length, better process, larger L2 cache, improved branch prediction...

Doesn't this point to *higher* IPC?

EDIT: Ah, or did you mean that *average* Tbird increase would be, say, 10%, but that Mustang would squeeze out some additional performance?

And how does KT-133 with PC-133 compare to 750 with PC-100?
