sarmad, point well taken. however, the point stands, albeit it has to be adjusted to fit the circumstance. if the us (or anybody else) allows food and medicine to go to iraq then saddam can turn around and spend more money on the military - a crazed one at that. whether the us gives iraq the money or allows the crackpot to make it himself the result is the same.

look, i'm not into diversionary tactics and i'm sorry you felt compelled to attempt to do it. blaming israel for iraq's invasion of kuwait is just not sensible and is probably due to excessive emotions filtering out reason. iraq is in this situation b/c saddam is a freaking lunatic who will attack ANYONE! just asked the raped and/or killed arab women & men of iran and kuwait.

i think you do the palestinian cause MUCH harm lumping in a crazed and evil man into their fold. the palestinians have very real and legitimate issues. saddam is a plain nut. he will follow anger wherever it is and use it to destroy. doesn't matter if it is leaders in his country, kurds, iranians, kuwait, israelie's (sp??). sarmad, it doesn't matter. saddam is EVIL.

saddam's choices are hurting the victims of this economic battle. saddam could do something rational for a change and this could be resolved. i'm not convinced allowing the unibomber to get a hold of more money to buy more bombs is a good thing - to use an example.

it is a SHAME that saddam disrespects his fellow countrymen and women so much as to have irrational policies that lead to these kinds of embargos so their children end up starving. saddam is responsible! saddam attacked kuwait. saddam plundered kuwait. saddam wouldn't leave. saddam is responsible. this is no small issue. to bring israel into this issue is just plain... irresponsible. israel is guilty of a lot of things, for sure. but this isn't one of them, imho.

saddam is evil. saddam is evil. saddam is evil. he's evil to everyone. he may say he's pro palestinian, but don't be so desperate as to make a deal w/ the devil b/c he supports an important issue to you. he'll kill you when it suits his agenda. he'd kill the palestinians if it suited his agenda. w/o a thought or care.

the big losers are the iraqi (sp??) people. please don't minimize their death and their suffering by glossing over what saddam REALLY is. EVIL.

perhaps time writing the iraq govt and requesting that they change their policy is the most appropriate thing to do. sounds almost laughable, doesn't it? -ng-
