NURUN to be an ASP Provider of Vignette's V/5 E-Business Platform(TM) in North America
MONTREAL, QUEBEC--OCTOBER 26, 2000 - 07:54 EDT
Announcement signals NURUN's aggressive start to partnerships with high-end vendors
NURUN Inc., a subsidiary of the Quebecor Inc. group, announced today that the company has been selected by Vignette(R) Corporation to be an ASP Partner for its V/5 E-business Platform in North America. NURUN will offer Vignette's e-business solution for the benefit of medium and large-sized organizations.
The Vignette V/5 E-business Platform enables companies and government departments to create and extend relationships with customers, suppliers and partners. It provides a scalable, reliable, and high-performance foundation for delivering content and managing interactions across wireless communication channels including PDAs, pagers and mobile phones, as well as the wired Web and e-mail. The platform's enterprise-ready architecture is recognized for its ability to help e-businesses build and adapt their applications quickly to meet changing market demands.
NURUN will now build, host and manage Vignette solutions as an ASP, allowing clients to focus on their core business instead of spending scarce time and resources on application development and systems management. The ASP model will make it possible for organizations of any size to benefit from Vignette's powerful e-business solution on a quarterly fee basis.
"This partnership with a best-of-breed provider of content management and personalization solutions will allow us to better serve our clients, including our parent company, Quebecor, a leader in the fields of media and publishing," said Jacques-Hervé Roubert, President and CEO of NURUN. "Offering Vignette's solution on an ASP model will also increase our recurring revenue stream, which is recognized in the industry as a very essential e-business strategy."
"Offering Vignette's solution as an ASP significantly reduces the end to end costs of acquiring and maintaining such a powerful e-business platform," says Alain C. Courville, Director, Partnership and Alliances at NURUN. "This partnership with Vignette will extend our current e-business offering, secure NURUN`s position in the emerging global ASP market, and provide an aggressive kick start to our partner program with high end vendors." The global ASP market is estimated by IDC to reach $8 billion by 2004.
Demand is High for Vignette's Solutions in Canada
Vignette has seen demand for its e-business platform grows in Canada, due to its ability to integrate with popular hardware platforms such as IBM and Sun. The company's Canadian customers include Aliant, AT&T Canada, the Bank of Montreal, Fidelity Insurance, ManuLife, Mediaconsult and Scotia Bank.
