At last, I sold all my BOCI after heavy lost. However, it is only a
small part of my portfolio.

The reasons are the following:

1. They are not the only one working on the 56 Kbs modem. A lot of companies are working on that too. The competition is high. The worst is that I found Taiwanese companies are working on that too. The salaries here is much cheaper although everyone know that I do not like the GVC modems.

2. The vedio phone is a not a good product. They did not give a good job. First, a lot of companies give the complete set including everything of CAM Cord,... etc. BOCI only gives a card. The price is not different a lot. There are several reports on the difficulty to install the the card into the PC. So it will not give much earning.

3. The computer sofware is not their strength. Can they compete with the gaints on the firewall?

4. Everyone tries to open the foreign market. However, GVC is the biggest modem company in the world now, bigger than USRX. So they need to compete one guy using cheap labor here in Taiwan.

5. ISO 9002 is nice. But it is almost nothing nowaday! It is because no one can survive without it. It is just a plus to prove that BOCI meets to the standard.

6. I cannot see any vision from their annual report shipped to me. Their products cannot be different from others. If everyone is selling similar stuffs, either you can give a better price or better service or better distribution channels, otherwise you have bad earning.

So, I took my lost!
