In the latest Money Magazine Nov 2000, there is a small article called fortune teller stating that the Dow Jones Industrial Average is an impressive forecaster of presidential elections. In 21 of the 25 elections since the Dow’s creation, the incumbent or his party’s candidate won if the average rose between July 31 and Oct 31; the challenger won if it fell. This year’s magic number is Dow 10,522!!!
