Dont know about JDSU ever becoming a bellweather - it may for a year or so (would that qualify as a bellweather?) much as YHOO and AMZN did, but long term, the space it occupies, as of now, is too narrow in my opinion to guage the market by its performance. Optical technology will probably be surpassed within a few years (by what i haven't the slightest) - the trick will be if they can jump into the next technology a la CSCO
