I wish I could count the decimal point when valuing my portfolio. The past two months have been dreadful. Everything I buy seems to immediately drop, and everything I sell seems to immediately skyrocket. It's nearly foolproof. Things have gotten so bad, that now when I buy or sell a stock, I only do it with half as much money as I think I should. That way if it drops after I buy I can buy more, and if it shoots up after I sell I can console myself with what's still in the portfolio. My Karma must be orthogonal to the universe or something.

The only good thing is that I think I've got my taxes for the year pretty close to zero. Last year I paid a LOT of income tax. If I'm typical, whoever is elected will almost immediately need to face a drain on the Treasury. Don't count on a surplus.

As you can probably tell, I'm bummed out.
