CSCO's internal systems are very sophisticated. Chambers has visibility into sales activity and cash flows almost on a daily basis. That's why they can announce earnings only a few days after quarter end.

If Roth's systems were as good, he wouldn't have guided up with only 3 weeks left in the quarter, only to disappoint. Maybe he should take that 2 cent dividend and invest it in better tools.
