thanks for the info OX.
Robert, before you inquire again about the EOM thingie, my history book tells me it first began on the Gilder threadsite where his newfangled technology is so devastatingly slow that the members got into the habit of using EOM (end of message) to allow a reader to blow past downloading that particular post and move on to the next post, because the one-liners can be read on a single page where all the posts are listed with leadoff line printed next to post number (as here at SI). Of course there was no 10 message-at-a-time capability as we have here on SI, and the boards here are at least tolerably fast. While considering Gilder sites, he has now made his sites so responsive that if one needs anything done, first one must fill out the eform, crash a couple times, then pick up the telephone and get the job done. Indeed, Gilder may have vision, but his nearsightedness leaves me slack-jawed. The Powercosm site (another brainchild, even if not directly involved with Gilder) actually processes all new memberships *off-site*.....meaning the credit card info is gathered, and as I understand it, PRINTED, taken to another location, RETURNED after validation, and one is then entered into the site.....by hand. Yes indeed, Mr.Gilder needs EXDS more than GCTR needed EXDS......IMO. And talk about secure credit card info.....well, your guess is as good as mine...
Thus, 11/13 (if they don't change it again) is one week after we change over to GX symbol on NYSE (11/06).
Thanks.
