2 questions. Can one have Datek checks printed elsewhere ? ($9.99 for 40 checks is a bit high) I am considering dropping my bank checking account. Secondly, I have shorted a stock that my dad wanted to sell. They tell us we need a stock power and a letter of authorization. So we go to my bank and the idiots REFUSE to accomodate us telling us to go to an attorney. (Soon to be EX-bank..Southtrust SUX !) The notary said she cant notarize anything but legal documents and my handwritten letter of authorization wouldnt cut it. And of course she wouldnt even notarize the power of attorney. Whats the quickest way to handle this ? Datek needs BOTH the stock power notarized and the letter of authorization.
