I do not know about the legal stuff you need to provide, but let me get the situation straight - You basically want the two positions to cancel out, right?

Why not just go down the path of least resistance - close both positions individually. If you play your cards right, you will cover the cost of the two commissions and make a profit if you can buy to cover near the bid and sell near ask (you didn't mention the stock, so I don't know if this is likely
