Selective disclosure also allows analysts to defend a stock.

I'll weigh in here, as not being in favor of selective disclosure. Investors-traders, need a less dependent environment from analysts.

Otherwise, we will hear too much from company execs leading to more distraction for them than necessary...

Good point. In fact, it's not so much of whether or not I am informed at the 'same' time or not, as much as I'm more concerned specifically to that information being traded on before it reaches the small fish. On balance overall, I think it's better without SD, in the long run.
