Direction of company still uncertain.

Well, since not many people obviously view or post here, I may be writing to myself, but we'll see.

The merger with ABM has generated mixed feelings. The predominant negative I have heard is that the merger creates more of a "Friedland empire," but who would not have expected that? Alot of people have a personal beef with Friedland, which is fine, but if that is such a big problem, then don't own stock in any of his enterprises. Period. It is that simple. Why they hang around and try to make this an issue is beyond me.

That fact (people selling because of Friedland) may be happening today. Volume of 1,510,000 as of noon with no news means that something is up or someone is simply getting out now before the merger is approved (I think it will be) at the shareholders meeting in December.

Exploration has been disappointing. Mongolia has not turned up anything big, and the Indonesian properties may not be as rich as once envisioned. Given the state of the metals markets and the IVN cash position, exploration efforts must be done with the utmost care and economy. Drilled holes with little promise are an extreme waste of money now.

Given this fact, I think Friedland knew that IVN and ABM had to merge if IVN was going to survive over the next two years. Gold and Silver will be dead for the foreseeable future, and copper may not make it above $1.00 for 1-2 years.

The next six months should prove to be a watershed period.
