Bush would be the first to admit he mangles a syllable from time to time. The post you responded to was regarding character. And Bush beats WhopperAl hands down in that department. JLA

No, I think Bush beats Gore hands down in the charm department, which is not at all the same thing.

He is also a better campaigner. It's not hard to be a better campaigner than Gore. I think that Gore believes that his true persona is a disaster on campaign, so he has become someone else until the election.

Judging from Gore's record, he is a moderate Democrat, intelligent, sober, hard-working, understands how government works, has a great deal of experience, and a family man.

Judging from Bush's record, he is a Republican, moderate by Texas standards, charming but not particularly bright, not hard-working, doesn't care much about government policy, has little experience, and a reformed heavy drinker and born-again Christian.

I don't have anything against Bush's character. I just think that it's very dangerous to have such an ignorant and unprepared man as President of the United States. If we hit a crisis, I do not want a President who is the pawn of his advisors.
