What is with guys who use gold as an economic indicator? Just a moment ago on CNBC, Ron Insana interviewed Kevin Lane of Technimentals.com. They both agreed that gold "doesn't matter anymore" when it comes to economic indicators.

In closing, Kevin used a gold chart to indicate that using the past 20 years as a guage, we are still in a 20-year period of de-inflation.

How can an analyst admit that gold is not an indicator any longer, then use gold to indicate economic trends?!

Sigh.

(And we are supposed to listen to these people?)
