Interesting observations from my XML class in San Francisco...

My instructor was a consultant in the industry. He said Microsoft is *leading* the industry when it comes to XML. Yes--instead of copying and following someone else!

I also learned that the newest Microsoft SQL server version is extremely well-suited to XML in particular, and may beat the competition hands down. Further, the Microsoft applications are all being built to tie into this. Finally, they are making a big handheld push with XML.

It was very exciting to me to see Microsoft really taking the lead--the XML technology is awesome for e-commerce. Why isn't anyone talking about the strength of Microsoft's strategy? I know several key customers have bought into XML, Biztalk, and .NET...
