There is sufficient stupidity in this conflict to satisfy everyone's requirements.

and, what difference does it make to the child?

If you throw stones, molotov cocktails, and other missiles at armed people long enough, someone will get hurt. It could be you, it could be them, it could be innocent bystanders.

Maybe they could each select 500 or so able-bodied willing people, clear out all weapons, create an arena, and turn the thousand warriors loose upon each other. Televise it world wide.

Then, abide by the results!

Seems to me there would be less carnage inside than out.
