JDA Software Announces Third Quarter Client Activity Strong Demand for JDA Portfolio Applications Springboards JDA into 4Q with Robust Pipeline SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., Oct 19, 2000 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- JDA(R) Software Group Inc. (Nasdaq: JDAS chart, msgs) announced its third quarter 2000 client activity.
In addition to previously announced license agreements with Famous Footwear, Gottchalks Inc. and Liverpool, JDA signed licenses with Target Australia Pty Ltd. and Party City Inc. for its new Internet Store Portal application. JDA also signed contracts with such leading companies as Carrefour, OfficeMax Mexico, Anheuser-Busch and Duane Reade.

Target Australia, Coles Myer Division, Licenses JDA Portfolio(TM) Internet Store Portal(TM)
A number of retailers around the world selected one or more of the products featured in JDA Portfolio(TM), JDA's collection of proven, pre-integrated products that feature best-of-breed host, store and analytic applications to support a company's multi-channel operations.
Target Australia, part of the Apparel & Home division of AU $24 billion Australia-based Coles Myer Ltd., and Party City, America's largest party goods chain with 428 company-owned and franchised stores, licensed JDA's next generation Internet-based B2B Store Portal(TM) technology.
Target Australia and Party City will use Store Portal to provide store personnel with real-time access to the day-to-day functions within Open DataBase Merchandising System(TM) (ODBMS(R)) which they licensed in 1999 and 1997 respectively.

Also in third quarter, Organized Living, a Kansas-based retailer specializing in home furnishings, organization products and services for the home, upgraded to Win/DSS after having realized benefits using a previous generation of JDA's in-store system. Organized Living previously licensed the integrated AS/400-based Merchandise Management System(TM) (MMS(R)) and Retail IDEAS(R) data warehouse system.
Looking to achieve the benefits of JDA's closed-loop decision support solution, Shoemart Inc., a Philippine-based multi-billion dollar mass retailer that operates mega-malls covering accommodations, shopping, food, entertainment and leisure activities, licensed Retail IDEAS. Shoemart is also licensed to use JDA's integrated host-to-POS MMS and Win/DSS(R) applications.
OfficeMax Mexico Signs for JDA's MMS, MMS.com and Retail IDEAS
As more retailers expand their selling channels onto the Internet, JDA continues to see demand for MMS.com, the first integrated, commercial e-commerce application that provides a complete multi-channel solution to support a retailer's B2C and B2B requirements.
OfficeMax Mexico, a division of the self-service office equipment and service retail chain, licensed MMS.com in conjunction with MMS and Retail IDEAS. Also signing for MMS.com and Retail IDEAS is Duane Reade, the largest drug store chain in the metropolitan New York City area with 160 stores. Duane Reade has been a MMS client since 1994.
Also in third quarter, MMS continues to prove popular with retailers in Asia. Test Rite International, a leading Taiwan-based supplier and retailer of home-oriented products, and Cinderella Marketing Corp., the marketing arm of Cinderella Dresses Inc., a Philippine-based retailer operating 60 stores and affiliate stores nationwide, licensed MMS.
Cinderella Marketing also signed for Win/DSS.
Carrefour, Designs Expand JDA Relationship with Arthur Enterprise Suite License
Current Arthur client, Carrefour, one of the world's leading distributors managing 564 hypermarkets, 1,348 supermarkets, 2,627 hard discount stores and 765 neighborhood integrated cash and carry and frozen food stores in 26 countries, significantly expanded its relationship with JDA. Designs Inc., an operator of 106 Levi's(R) Outlet by Designs and Dockers(R) Outlet by Designs stores, also broadened its business relationship with JDA in third quarter.
Currently licensed to use MMS, Win/DSS and Retail IDEAS, Designs selected JDA's Arthur Enterprise Suite of applications including Arthur Planning, Arthur Information Manager, Arthur Allocation, Arthur Performance Analysis and two of the Arthur RAPID applications, Product Planning and Location Planning.
Also signing for Arthur Planning is Mexx International, an international fashion retailer based in The Netherlands that operates 600 retail stores and 6,000 locations in premium department stores worldwide, and existing Arthur client The Edcon Group, a South African multi-chain retail fashion group.
JDA Signs 57 Intactix Deals in Third Quarter including VF Corp.
In its second full quarter since acquiring Intactix, JDA signed 57 new Intactix licenses in third quarter, further positioning the Intactix brand as the space management solution of choice for leading manufactures and retailers.
"The integration of the Arthur and Intactix product lines provides the industry's first strategic financials to floor planning solution," commented Peter Charness, senior vice president, global marketing and chief product officer. "We're seeing a number of clients move away from stand-alone solutions to our integrated product set to achieve a better return on their inventory investment."
Notably, VF Corp., an existing Arthur client, chose the new generation of pro/space planogramming software to enhance their merchandising capability. Other existing JDA clients such as Bass Pro Shops Inc. and The Limited newly licensed Intactix this quarter proving the excellent opportunity for cross selling JDA Portfolio applications.
Anheuser-Busch also significantly expanded its relationship with JDA. A sampling of the numerous other Intactix licenses this quarter include: Shop Vac Corp., US Food Services, SmithKline Beecham, Frito Lay Deutschland and Philip Morris Services (UK).
PETCO, Sony and Virgin Among Retailers to Expand Relationship with JDA
A number of JDA clients from around the world expanded their original contracts in third quarter 2000.
In North America, these clients include: ABC Liquor Inc., Allen-Edmonds Shoe, American Eagle Outfitters, Anna's Linens, The Art Store Inc., Dekor, Gordman's, Harold's Stores, Nexcom, Ocean State Jobbers, Pampered Chef, PETCO Animal Supplies, Quality Stores, Rack Room Shoes, Sony Pictures Entertainment, Virgin Entertainment, Warnaco and World Duty Free Americas.
In Europe, Middle East and Africa, these clients include: Al Azizia-Panda, Boots International, The Foschini Group, Janssen, Levi's Strauss & Co., Monoprix and Statoil. And in Asia Pacific, these clients include B & Q International, Glorious Sun Enterprises (JeansWest), Shoppers Stop, Smith's City and Coles Myer's Officeworks division.
Several other companies signed for one or more products or expanded their license agreements with JDA in third quarter 2000. Due to the perceived competitive advantages of implementing JDA's solutions, these retailers have requested confidentiality.
