Thanks. I think your solution worked (I'm crossing my fingers--gone about 5 minutes and no warning screen has appeared yet).

Any other ideas on my insoluble problem of a Windows 93Plus logo screen that appears about 1/2 the time I boot up my computer? When that happens I have to do a Ctrl-Alt-Delete to get rid of it. I've uninstalled Windows 98Plus (it's a pretty worthless piece of software, unless you like theme cursors, hourglasses and the like), reinstalled it and uninstalled it, but the damn logo screen hides somewhere and appears when I boot up (1/2 the time, anyway). Any ideas? TIA.
