Kal Kan - Re: 'first Dell now Compaq is recalling Intel notebooks. Could this be due to Intel misrepresenting power dissipation of PIII CPUs and overloading the notebook batteries? Some folks have measured PIII power dissipation and discovered that Intel significantly understates PIII's MAX power dissipation"

Anybody with a quarter of a brain would recognize that the number of notebooks recalled is MUCH SMALLER than the total number of Intel-based notebooks that Dell and Compaq sell - ergo, it IS NOT an Intel power dissipation problem.

If it was, the news media and analysts would be all over that story like scum on a Louisiana swamp.

Coming from an AMDroid - whose beloved AMD can't even participate in the high end notebook segment - because of MASSIVE ATHWIPER HEATING PROBLEMS - you have once again drawn attention to both yours and AMD's plight !
