Vari-L Company Recognized for Outstanding Industrial Security Achievement  Department of Defense Personnel to Make Formal Presentation on October 31  PR NEWSWIRE    DENVER, Oct. 26 — Vari-L Company, Inc. Cogswell Award for Outstanding Industrial  Security Achievement at the Company's facilities on October 31,  2000. DOD representatives David P. Hopkins and John J. Whitecotton  will be on hand to make the presentation.    The award, which is a recognition for excellence in industrial security  management, was originally announced at the 36th Annual National  Classification Management Society (NCMS) National Training Seminar  in Washington D.C.         The award, administered by the Defense Security Service, was  established in 1966 as the Industrial Award for Excellence.  The Cogswell Award is named to honor the first Chief of the  Office of Industrial Security, who established many of the  basic principles that are part of the National Industrial Security Program.         The principles of the Program include establishing partnerships  between government and industry to accomplish industrial security  program objectives, and fostering excellence in the implementation  of the National Industrial Security Program for the ultimate benefit  and protection of the United States.
